Cart Mart is celebrating its 65th anniversary while continuing to grow at a rapid pace. The company started in 1959, yet has stayed ahead of changing market conditions to take full advantage of emerging market opportunities, and has plans to do so for the next 65 years.
"When my grandfather Ben Bellman opened Southwest Marketeer in El Paso, TX his goal was simple… to help golfers navigate 18-holes of golf at a much faster pace than the traditional method of walking," noted Cart Mart CEO Brian Rott. "His ‘Caddie Cars,’ as they were called then, were electric and tiller-style steering. His operating philosophy was also simple... hire the best people and deliver a product and service that would keep customers coming back. He was so successful that he moved the company to San Marcos, CA in 1972 to get closer to a larger marketplace."

1959
The Begining in El Paso, TX
Ben Bellman opened Southwest Marketeer in El Paso, TX in 1959. His goal was simple… to help golfers navigate 18-holes of golf at a much faster pace than walking. Since then, we have expanded nationwide and have become one of the largest and oldest dealerships in the world.
1972
Move to San Marcos, CA
Southwest Marketeer moves is operations to San Marcos, CA. Changes its name to Cart Mart and builds its corporate headquarters.
1975
Becomes a Yamaha Dealer
Cart Mart officially becomes a Yamaha Golf Car Distributor for consumers and commercial accounts.
1978
Becomes a Taylor-Dunn Dealer
Cart Mart officially becomes a Taylor-Dunn dealer for consumers carts and commercial utility carts.
1980
Becomes a Cushman Dealer
Cart Mart officially becomes a Cushman dealer for consumers commercial utility carts.
2008
Becomes a Club Car Dealer
Cart Mart acquires Pacific Golf Cars and becomes an authorized Club Car golf cart dealer.
2011
Becomes a Polaris GEM Dealer
Cart Mart officially becomes a Polaris GEM golf cart and LSV dealer in the United States.
2012
Becomes a Garia Dealer
Cart Mart officially becomes a Garia luxury golf cart dealer in the United States.
2024
Opens 9th Cart Mart Location
Cart Mart opens 9th location in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and expands operations internationally.
